The Church’s Role

The true heart of God concerning homosexuality and other sexual addictions is the same as it is toward any other sin: All sin is an abomination in His sight. But the individuals caught in such sin are the objects of His love and affection. Romans 5:18 tells us that God showed His love to us while we were still His enemies by sending His son to die for us. This unconditional love is not prejudiced by the nature of our sin, but looks beyond faults to our underlying needs. God’s heart for the Church concerning homosexuality is that the Church openly recognize and compassionately respond to the valid need for love, acceptance and affirmation without ever condoning the sin.

Beyond Imagination seeks to come along side and equip the local church in fulfilling its role in the redemptive and healing process. The Body of Christ provides the context where healing and wholeness are lived out. Individuals who are surrounded by a caring community (the Church) have a higher probability of succeeding in overcoming their sexual addictions. Beyond Imagination desires to have individual participants integrated into the local Church.
